Image To Graph in geometry nodes - Blender project

€2+

Transform any image or 3d mesh in a simple and cute 2d animated graph. Useful pattern for promotion, marketing, logos, websites and other stuff! Made in Blender v. 4.5.3.

If you have any issues please comment on my YouTube channel or join on my Discord server (link in all my video tutorial description). This to avoid bad reviews caused by simple misunderstanding about the using of the content or because the Blender's team sometime changes the core code between versions of Blender breaking some geometry nodes setup badly.

You will be able to download two files: one that colorizes the layers with 2 distinct colors and the second file that colorizes the curves and the circles with a rainbow version to let the user make a setup that can better manage the colors for each point (face corner) of the final mesh instead of the entire instance of the layers. This second file is perfect to give more color detail to the final mesh.

Features:

  • Image: The image you want to convert in the 2d pattern
  • Max brightness: The part of the gray scale version of the image that will be darker than this factor will be included to make the 2d pattern. If you set 1 you will have the entire image converted in the 2d graph.
  • Scale: Initial scale of the noise used to make the primitive cells to define the starting shape of the graph. The higher is this value more precise the original boundary shape will be.
  • Randomness: The randomness value of the primitive noise applied.
  • Front sub-section: The front layer of the graph
    • Merge distance: The distance used for the merging operation on the primitive vertices of the 2d graph.
    • Thickness: The thickness of the lines.
    • Radius: The radius of the circles instantiated on the control points of the curves.
    • Random radius: From 0 to 1 you can increase the randomness of the scale of the circles.
    • Color: The entire color of the layer (curves + circles)
  • Rear sub-section: The rear layer of the graph
    • Merge distance: The distance used for the merging operation on the primitive vertices of the 2d graph.
    • Thickness: The thickness of the lines.
    • Radius: The radius of the circles instantiated on the control points of the curves.
    • Random radius: From 0 to 1 you can increase the randomness of the scale of the circles.
    • Color: The entire color of the layer (curves + circles)
  • Background: Available with a check
    • Color: Define the color of the background
    • Scale: Sometimes the graph can go over the boundary of the background mesh. With this scale you can tweak the width and height of the background to fix this issue.
  • Animation: Available with a check. This applies a noise animation on the graph. Here you can define:
    • Speed: The speed of the animation
    • Noise scale: The scale of the noise texture used in the animation
    • Scale effect: The influence of the animation on the mesh.
